Charles Docus has joined us to share his story of how he changed from being a lawyer to a niche ecommerce entrepreneur.
Summary
3Two1 Drinks started as Charles Docus’s little hobby. He had been a bartender for the past 15 years (at the time) whilst studying. He also enjoyed discovering new spirits and started importing some to Australia one day. Charles found a market for these products and decided to start his ecommerce business.
Australia is a big market for alcohol. Charles tapped into that marketplace. He was practising law for his first years in a law firm, so he was doing double shifts. One day, his ecommerce business grew by ten times. Charles had to step back and see where his hobby was going. He did love his law job, mainly practising in the liquor licensing area. However, he realised that his growing ecommerce business required more attention. Charles made his decision to commit to his hobby.
His initial product range started with Glasgow Distillery’s first distilled gins. The product line was at four and grew to 137 (at the time of the podcast). Then, Simon dipped into the topic of pricing.
